Netherbird: Shadows and stone
17/11/11 || Smalley
This demo shows Netherbird (real metal name there, guys) to be a pretty ambitious band, with some epic riffs, choral vocals, and soaring synth mixed in with more traditional, straightforward black metal-aggression, and they mix it pretty well, keeping things focused and organized, though I wouldn’t say they’re up to Emperor’s level yet, or the rest of the cream of the symphonic black metal crop. The production isn’t the best, nor is the growling, as both could use some more power to ‘em, but that’s all forgivable considering how much more worthwhile than the typical stub.
7,5/10: Pretty classy stuff here; wouldn’t mind hearing a full length some time.
After going thru that crap, you most likely wanna read something way more interesting. You do, admit it.
